There are cases where a user needs to manipulate the content of the EAR's META-INF directory.  Since an EAR file doesn't have a Sources node, the only access to it in the Project explorer is via the 'Configuration Files' node.

note: users can manipulate the content of META-INF through the Files explorer, hence filed as an enhancement.
