When we compare two files, it is something useful to be able to quickly move to the specified place in one of them to modify its context directly in it – e.g. by double click on the line number. 

It is sometimes needed especially when we want to modify the file on the left. We can switch the compared files; however we then need to find the requested place.

In addition the modification in the standard editing mode is much more comfortable.
