Another community member told me that he could not reach the http://plugins.netbeans.org/ Web site.  I have confirmed that it is unavailable from my location (St. Louis, MO, USA) and further confirmed using "Is It Down For Everyone Or Just Me":

  http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/http://plugins.netbeans.org/

which reports: "It's not just you! http://plugins.netbeans.org looks down from here."

Actually, I just tried again and it looks like it is available again.  It may be an intermittent issue.

Earlier yesterday there was a huge peak of requests, which took Plugin Portal down. It caused all database connections were used, many requests were served error page and later web server went down completely.

Honza restarted it and since it looked like the peak was not there any more everything went back to normal.

We will check logs if this flood came from a single IP or not and install some measures if needed.
