1st time one expands databases node get undesirable popup that is small window in upper left of screen --the window continuously appears/dissappears for about 2 seconds;

only occurs 1st time node database node is expanded after netbeans is started; does not appear in nb6.9.1; prev reported but cannot find the report.

this is annoying, but no exceptions occur.

Hi emiddio, I got a several reports like this but I'm still not able to reproduce the problem. Could you reproduce it again? For each opening Database node? Or for 1st opening in each IDE session? Or, only when 1st opening after restart whole computer? Thanks

it occurs always - each time i expand the top-level services/databases node the
1st time after netbeans has been started; not the computer started.

any other time the databases node is expanded the defect does not occur -- it is
a 1 time thing -- after netbeans has been started.

it occurrs on both my work windows 7 laptop;, and my home win 7 desktop.

i will check today after get to work to see if it happens on the linux box.

Bug 200369 has a description of what the problem dialog is, which should hopefully make it easier to track down.

It appears to be a dialog that's repeatedly propping up and going away (perhaps
one for each defined DB connection).  The dialog is titled "Connection
Information" and says something like, "Please wait while we retrieve connection
information".  Perhaps this message can be moved to the status bar, or better
yet, remove it completely and just replace with a "busy" cursor.  Even if I
cared why I was waiting, I could easily take a guess from the context of what I
was doing.

I found a possible cause of the described problem - caused by fix of 195943. The fix is important to rid of freezing IDE while reading password from keyring. Needed to find a way how to suppress flicking modal dialog.
