My netbeans stoped after I've installed latest update for smarty plugin.
Splash screen was only showing 'Modules Loaded'. 
Only one solution I've found was: disable it.

Very likely duplicate of issue #188083.

Please, try the latest version of the Smarty plugin and reopen this issue if the problem still exists. Thanks.
