Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.0 (Build 201104080000) Operating System = Linux version 2.6.35-28-generic running on amd64 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_24 Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 19.1-b02 I am using a dark desktop and when I am reporting an issue I see the white background and light grey font that makes the experience of reporting bugs a bit harder than it should be. I think the IDE should get the colors from the color profiles or use the defaults colors from the desktop (as it does with the rest of the GUI, like menus).
could you please attach a screenshot

the empty area color in the issue and query views isn't hardcoded, but set to be the same color as in EditorPane.background. Will change that to textarea.background, so that it will be the same as in e.g. description. just curious - what color is the background in a files editor?
