Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.0 (Build 201104080000)
Operating System = Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_24
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 19.1-b02

Can't open Tools -> Options. Nothing happens. No error indication at all. Restarting application, rebooting computer,
repairing application, no change.

Could you please attach messages.log file http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqLogMessagesFile + see http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198110#c2 and verify the coordinates/size is set properly? Thanks in advance.

As a workaround I solved the problem by changing the name for the .netbeans/7.0 folder. After that 7.0 behaves properly, but I need to re-configure all 
the changes I made one more time:-(...

So my 2 pfennig says that there are some inconsistency somewhere in the
configuration files found in the .netbeans/7.0 folder. I can zip it and send
it to you if need be.

Yes, could you please attach a zip (config folder is needed)? And what is more interesting is how this happened? Have you changed any options? Did you import any options from previous versions of NetBeans before problem appeared?

I believe ive imported the settings from 6.8. No problems encountered. I have done some changes in the formatting and color/fonts area, nothing to get excited about. 

Im sorry that I cant give any more details on what took place before I noticed this error. I hope you can dig out something from the config-folder.

Ok, thanks for your data ... Yulia - I would like to keep this opened and duplicated issue close as duplicate, this one contains more info and reporter is willing to cooperate ....

Hi, 

I had the same problem with Netbeans 7.0.1 W7Pro 64bits. I was able to resolve them by modifying the file:

%userprofile%\.Netbeans\7.0\config\Preferences\org\netbeans\modules\options\api.properties

OptionsHeight = 500
OptionsWidth = 871
OptionsX = -949   <--- problem is here, if I put 100 everything works ok
OptionsY = 117


I think this value should not be kept never negative, I do not see much sense

I am sorry I cannot reproduce in NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 20120423-db8bb6d351f1). I believe this was fixed in http://hg.netbeans.org/core-main/rev/42c417481b7a

This issue is still valid.

We no longer use Bugzilla. Please file this ticket into Apache Jira [1] against NetBeans project and "platform - Options&Settings" component.
