without uninstalling netbeans 6.9.1, i installed netbeans 7.0 on a different directory. then uninstalled 6.9.1

in windows 7 registry the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\netbeans.exe\shell\open\command" key still points to 6.9.1 directory, which prevents files to be opened with a double click. also selecting netbeans 7 exe using "open with" dialog has no effect.

after changing "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\netbeans.exe\shell\open\command" to netbeans 7.0 directory everything works.

Installer does not deal anyhow with the registry key you've mentioned - neither create nor update nor delete.
