Description Jesse Glick 2002-01-16 13:04:57 UTC
[dev jan 15] Sometimes the icon for the "Shortcut to Target" template
(under Ant Build Scripts) in the New wizard disappears, i.e. becomes
blank. But then it will reappear. This happens when moving up and down
over the template using the keyboard or mouse in the first panel of
the wizard; moving over the node sometimes works normally, sometimes
makes the icon disappear when it was present before, sometimes makes
it reappear when it was not present; seems to be random. Initially I
thought it had something to do with reloading the Ant module, but it
happens without this, when the Ant module is a normal nonreloadable
installation module. The Ant layer just defines the template as a .txt
file with a template wizard iterator and the usual template stuff
(localized name and icon using nbresloc:). It only seems to happen in
the case of this one template, however, so I do not know what is
special about it. The same happens when looking at the node in the
Options dialog under Templates, so it is not a problem with the New
wizard as such. The only thing I see unusual about it is that the icon
is a layered GIF with an alpha channel, whereas others around it have
an alpha channel but are not layered. Possible JDK bug? JDK 1.3.1_02
on Linux/Gnome/Enlightenment.

Disagree; as I wrote:

"The same happens when looking at the node in the Options dialog under

ok, I'm new to all of this and didn't read whole story :-(

Also look at #10687, might be related.

Check issue #22424...related?!

This has been open for a while and has been reported several times.
Comment 11 Jiri Rechtacek 2003-02-19 15:21:26 UTC
It's reproducible in at least in ME (on w2k), it can be seen also in
System Filesystem|Templates|Ant|Shortcut to Target. Maybe problem with
badge in IconManager -> change to AWT/Swing.
Comment 12 _ tboudreau 2003-09-09 00:59:57 UTC
Closing as wontfix - the switch to FS extension will involve a
wholesale rewrite of the template system, and it's extremely unlikely
that this issue will continue to be a problem.
Comment 13 Jesse Glick 2003-09-09 02:23:06 UTC
Any rewrite of the template system is probably irrelevant, since this
seems to be a graphics bug of some kind - a rewrite would probably
still be using the same rendering infrastructure. I don't see any
reason to believe that TemplateWizard or friends is actually
responsible for this.

I have not seen this bug in a while. JDK_SPECIFIC perhaps?
Comment 14 Jesse Glick 2004-01-08 13:41:37 UTC
Can't remember when I last saw this. Can probably be WORKSFORME.
Comment 15 _ tboudreau 2004-01-12 11:53:58 UTC
Makes sense to me.
