When you add a new GlassFish 3 instance, the name of the server in the "Choose Server" panel is: GlassFish Server 3. However, this item can be used for both v3 and 3.1. Wouldn't it be clearer if the item was called GlassFish Server 3.x ?
which build are you using? Can you attach a screenshot?
Created attachment 105088 [details] Screenshot of the Add server dialog Well, it is weird that when I do New Project -> Web Project -> Add Server on the Server and Settings panel, then the label is "GlassFish Server 3". If I do Window -> Services -> Servers -> Add Server, then I see "GlassFish Server 3.x". I am attaching the screenshot. This is in full IDE build (with ergonomics): Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build web-main-4436-on-110118) Java: 1.6.0_22; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 17.1-b03-307 System: Mac OS X version 10.6.6 running on x86_64; MacRoman; en_US (nb)
thanks for the additional info on how to reproduce the problem... I rarely use the add server button on the New Project wizards and had forgotten about it when I tried to reproduce this issue.
