Description esmithbss 2010-11-28 06:29:06 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201011250001)
Operating System = Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_20
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 16.3-b01

When editing and XML/XSD file if you are adding a named value to a tag, the closing quotation marks for the value are not added when you type the name, equal sign, and the first double quote.

This can cause issues with enumeration based code completion (see issue # 192584).

Steps to reproduce:

Within an XML file tag, start typing a new attribute name, then add the =" following the name.

At this point, there is an open string within the tag. The developer is required to add the closing double quotation mark to complete the text.

This behavior is inconsistent with the double quotation management for strings in other file types.

Report from old NetBeans version. Due to code changes since it was reported likely not reproducible now. Feel free to reopen if happens in 8.0.2 or 8.1.
