Whenever I go to Tools->Plugins->Available plugins and try to select a single plugin, the checkbox won't "click". I can only install plugins by installing the whole category. I am using both Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and 10.10. I have tested the same feature on Windows and it works. Could it be a package missing?
Hard to say, could you also add NB version/build number & JDK version/build number ?
Open JDK is broken. NetBeans do no run on java version "1.6.0_20" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.1) (6b20-1.9.1-1ubuntu3) OpenJDK Server VM (build 17.0-b16, mixed mode) Something is wrong with BooleanEditor. Btw. I've been told that there is a workaround: select the editor (aka. "false" or "true") and press space.
Marian, this is another bug of OpenJDK _20. Can you please contact the OpenJDK team and report it to them?

BTW: similar behaviour reported as Bug 192390
