Description mjr_1974 2010-09-08 18:08:33 UTC
Users should be able to change the font color of 'New' and 'Modified' files in the 'Projects' tree and in the editor Tabs, to enhance font contrast when needed (for example, when using a different theme).
The 'New' color seems to be hard coded to green and the 'Modified' one to blue.

I changed the target milestone to 7 hoping this annoying bug can be solved for that release.
Comment 2 netabuse 2013-01-15 18:44:21 UTC
This bug affects OS X in 7.3: the "source control new" text color is green, and the background is a middle-gray, making the text very hard to read.

I'm experiencing the same problem. The font color on the tabs and in the projects tree are black when first starting the application. After a few seconds the text turns green.

I think it would be great if we could change the tabs background color and the font color to enhance contrast (or at least the background color of the tab's label), letting the users to choose different colors for both active and inactive tabs.

Versioning colors are customizable in Tools - Options - Fonts & Colors - Versioning.

Please forgive me reopening this issue, but according to my uderstanding this is not about the version control (except netabuse's comment) but the content of the Project/Files/Favourite/Service windows.

In case you use a dar theme and you set do dark grey the background of the editor window is very annoying that nothing happens with the Project Window. In the past it worked nicely with some look and feel plugin, but nowadays isn't.

That's why there are Dark Nimbus and Dark Metal options in 7.4

Well, IMHO, that's the way it is (what we currently have), but not the way it 'should' be...

Dark Nimbus and Dark Metal do not work well with some desktop settings (which work well in other programs).

To avoid this conflict and not to force a user to switch the theme, Netbeans should provide a way to customize those colors too. In fact, that's the user expectation because of the great deal of font and color customization Netbeans offers in other areas...
