Product Version = NetBeans IDE 6.9.1 (Build 201007282301)
Operating System = Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_21
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 17.0-b17


When I used Fixedsys Excelsior 3.01 Font as the default fonts for Text editor,with fontsize 12.
It looks interesting and it make me very demoralized ,too.
The character 'A' and the character followed overlapped at the same position.
Take Age for example,the character 'A' and 'g' overlapped in the text editor.
However, when I use fontsize 18 or other fontsize such as 14 or 12,it looks normal.
With other font,The text editor apperernce looks normal.
I think it may have some errors with the text editor.
I wish I could get some help from the development group.

Please test in NB 7.1 Beta, there were number of fixes in the view hierarchy since then which could eliminate the problem.
If only the size 12 is problematic the font could possibly have some wrong hinting info for that size.
