Toggling this option does not reliably affect the display of sections of the window currently displayed on screen. They are correctly repainted when you scroll them off screen and back on, or reopen the file. Not a big deal but if you don't understand what is happening you might think this option has no effect and immediately turn it off, never to try it again.
Just tested this with: Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201008200001) Java: 1.6.0_18; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 16.0-b13 System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1252; en_CA (nb) Editor does not repaint correctly on windows either.

As it works for me as well I am closing the report - if someone can still experience it please reopen.
