IDE crashes after a few changes to the files in the mounted working directory, usually in case you change filenames / delete files outside the IDE then refresh the IDE view. The crash doesn't come right after the mod. to the files but rather after a minute. I was (not using netbeans anymore because of it) using netbeans on 2 PC's, one had a CVS repository, this one didn't have any bugs. the other pc, while connecting to the CVS repository of the other did the bugs.
How the IDE crashes?? It just disappears without any messages? Then it's JVM bug. Or become unresponsive? Then please attach a thread dump (CTRL-Break in the console). Please specify also the JVM version and NetBeans build number. The best would be if you can attach the ide log (which is in <NetBeans user dir>/system/ide.log). Do you use command-line cvs or built-in cvs?
Could you Eyal please provide us with more details that Martin asked for ? Are you able to reproduce it with brand new user directory ? Don't he- sitate to reopen the bug once you give us requested answers. Meanwhile verifying ...
Comments from Eyal (Please, do not just reply to emails from IssueZilla, go to the web and add your comments here. Emails from IZ are only informational. Thanks): Sorry, I had many system changes latly and I can't connect this pc to the same cvs repository that was used when I had those bugs, I send you the log file and hope it will be any good to you. P.s. The main problem with NetBeans imo is that the configuration (in general) is too complex (took me alot of time to master) in comparison to my current IDE (JBuilder). You should use Visual Studio and JBuilder to get some inspiration for the default conf. It'll make life for users like me much easier (Think how much work it is to configure netbeans when you work with many machines a day...) Thanx, Eyal.
