I was notified from a customer that he was unable to create a new user account on nb.org. Registration occurs as expected, but email confirmation is never sent. I created a new, bogus account to test and can also confirm this: username: lwales
I tried to reproduce it as well, but my registration email was delivered properly. Could I ask you which email provider do you use? By the way, did you try to log in again on https://netbeans.org/people/login and try to resend activation email? Thanks.
Well it's working now. I did as you suggested - logged in and had email resent. I used hotmail, not sure what the customer was using. There seemed to be an outage for NB mailing lists over the weekend. Maybe the outage is also what was preventing verification emails from being sent?
Yes, I suppose that it was the reason. But I can't say it 100%. For now I'm resolving the issue as worksforme. Lea don't you know which all emails didn't work over weekend? Could it affect also newly registered users?
The issues seen was from 7/16 which was due to DNS outage caused emails backup due to mail server outage.
