Description codeslinger_compsalot 2010-06-03 02:15:48 UTC
Ubuntu Linux 8.x Firefox 3.0.19

I filled out the survey,

NetBeans IDE 6.9 Community Acceptance Survey

I hit the submit button,
I am logged in.

It says Error, you need to be logged in, hit the back button...
and rejected the survey submission.

Now, firefox normally does a good job of preserving the contents of text areas and forms for situations like this when you hit the back button all of your answers are usually still there.

For instance, with this bug report, just now, when it did not like the keywords I entered, I was able to hit the back button and have everything still be here, no content lost.

But the way that the survey form is designed with it's custom controls, it Lost all of the answers/content. And most people, myself included are not ~enthusiastic~ about reentering their answers. especially since there is no way of knowing if the form will work on the next try.

So there are two bugs here:
1) Defect in Logic that detects logged in state

2) Instead of allowing user to log in and continue with post, it tossed all of their entries and forces them to start over.

If you are not seeing very many responses to your survey, now you know why...

might as well close this, the survey is long gone/over. so the problem is not even relevant anymore. and nobody has shown the last bit of interest in this problem anyway...
