Hi

The drop down menus from the main options, file, edit etc., have no borders and it can be very hard to distinguish them from text in the editor window.

Never seen this before. Perhaps you are using an unusual Gnome theme, or custom Java L&F?

You are right, it was the standard Clearlooks theme, Changed to Glossy and the problem no longer happens.

Looks really weird and hard to distinguish between menu and underlying text ...

Tonda, the priority of jdk bug is P4 ! - can we rise it ?

The JDK bug has been reported 2 years ago and it still doesn't show any activity. Shouldn't we escalate it again? This could be some simple fix in JDK code...
