Description koubel 2010-02-19 08:54:33 UTC
I have in my (username: koubel) profile page in netbeans sets email
koubel@volny.cz. When I create a new bug (via IDE exception report
or by hand) reporter email is alway set to koubel@netbeans.org.

I don't have set koubel@netbeans.org anywhere in my profile.
Maybe it was a first autogenerated email when I created my profile.

Can you please make some settings, which ensure that my newly created
issues will have reporter email as my netbeans.org profile email (koubel@volny.cz)?
Comment 1 Marco Walther 2010-02-20 01:43:56 UTC
Why would you need that?

Your BZ username is actually `koubel@netbeans.org'. That's mostly done to be consistent and to give you (and other users) the possibility to change their email addresses. The emails will still reach you;-)

I mark this as `won't fix' for now. Iff you can show me a very good reason to break SSO between netbeans.org & BZ and some other things, please let me know.

Thanks,

It looks like there is some config problem on either end of the transport:-(

BUT
http://www.openspf.org/Why?show-form=1&identity=marcow%40netbeans.org&ip-address=64.79.150.121&.submit=Submit

says that it should work??

----------------------------------------------------
An SPF-enabled mail server rejected a message that claimed an envelope sender address of marcow@netbeans.org.

An SPF-enabled mail server received a message from mailout.kenai.com (64.79.150.121) that claimed an envelope sender address of marcow@netbeans.org.

The domain netbeans.org has authorized mailout.kenai.com (64.79.150.121) to send mail on its behalf, so the message should have been accepted. It is impossible for us to say why it was rejected.
------------------------------------------------------

So I don't know what I can do here:-( Can you please ask the mail admins at your end, why they would not accept those emails??

Thanks,
-- Marco
Comment 3 koubel 2010-02-22 03:34:22 UTC
OK, I understand. I thought, that problem with "undelivered messages" from MTA
is caused by my "reported" field in bugzilla bugs. So I will try to ask
postmasters of mx50.seznam.cz for that. OK?

Can you please make another test, send some message from you (@netbeans.org via
kenai MTA) to koubel@seznam.cz (not @volny). If there will be still same
problem I will try to contact seznam.cz postmasters.

I tried a test from the command line. Let's see if you get that?

Comment 5 koubel 2010-02-23 02:17:51 UTC
OK, I get your test message and I have also response from seznam.cz
postmasters.

They said that problem is with your strict SPF policy, which disables me use this configuration:

- I have set in netbeans.org profile email koubel@volny.cz
- In volny.cz I have set "resend" all incoming messages into
 another mail box in seznam.cz

Situation with message from bugzila is:

- Bugzilla send message through kenai.netbeans MTA to volny.cz MTA
- volny.cz MTA sends it to seznam.cz MTA
- seznam.cz MTA drops my message because SPF fails (IP address is MTA
of volny.cz not kenai.netbeans as you tested).

So I cannot use "relaying" volny.cz account in netbeans profile, I
must use seznam.cz directly.

So I changed my email in profile to @seznam.cz and try to commit this...

And mail was delivered without any problems. So I think "workaround" works
it's enough for me, so you can close ticket.
