Description Jiri Kovalsky 2001-11-23 15:14:40 UTC
Development build of NetBeans 3.3 #200111230645 on Windows 2000 with JDK 1.4b87

Description:
============
"Filter by Author" combo box in "CVS|Annotate" command doesn't provide full na-
mes of CVS users if their name is longer than 8 characters. The characters exce-
eding this limit are simply cut off.

Steps to reproduce:
===================
1. Mount CVS filesystem using Built-in Client and login as somebody whose name
   is at least 9 characters long. e.g. jkovalsky :-)
2. Create new file, "CVS|Add" it and "CVS|Commit" it into the repository.
3. Right click the file and choose "CVS|Annotate" popup menu item.
4. In upcoming window take a look at "Filter by Author" combo box. Your name
   will be shortened.

I think this is cvs issue since the output of the cvs annotate command
coming from server is printed in columns. The longer author names are
cut to maintain the columns. I haven't checked, please reopen if the
command-line cvs raw output prints your name in full.
Comment 2 Milos Kleint 2001-11-23 16:14:40 UTC
oh.. sorry I haven't read carefully enough. You mentioned the combobox
not the table column. Does the table column have the right author?

Anyway I've checked the code and IMHO I'm not doing anything that cuts
the text.
Comment 3 Jiri Kovalsky 2001-11-23 16:16:36 UTC
Okay, I have just double checked it in raw command's output. I appolo-
gize for wasting your (and my) time. :-(
Verifying as my fault ...

Resolved for 3.4.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
