i cannot copy a directory tree without getting contained java files refactored -- i have to do it outside of netbeans. i am using the favorites tab to select the directory to be copied. there is a project i created at the top of a tree of source code -- of which this directory is contained within.
This will probably require an UI (dialog) to disable refactoring which will break the workflow for most of users who are using the refactoring. Adding UI expert to cc.
Can you please in a little more detail describe why you need to copy the directory without refactoring classes in it?
i have reason to do it all the time -- maybe i want a simple backup of some files for a while, want to remove some source from a project by moving the files to another directory -- and do not want any refactoring; if can not do with netbeans -- must use OS commands outside of netbeans to do it; my opinion is that any refactoring should be an option -- not the norm. thanks
It has 2 sides. If we allow to disable refactoring when copying (will enable dialog for this action), we'll make this possible, but on the other hand will make the quick drag&drop process require a dialog to be completed. However, I've checked that for Move/Copy a single file, we already do require the dialog .. so for the sake of consistency, it's OK to require it for a (IMHO) less frequent action such as copy folder.
Depends on copy refactoring (multiple files)
