If I load a project (so far i've seen this on Java Library, Java Desktop Application and Grails) it scanned by Netbeans as expected.  For some projects scanning can take a VERY long time and cause significant performance issues.  In cases like this, I sometimes close down the project but Netbeans continues to scan it.  I'm not sure if this is by design but I would have expected that it would cancel the scan of that project.
