Reproduced on Mac OS X (any java version). Reproducibility on other platforms is under question.

When I use the Hide Partner Links editor toolbar icon, the "swim-lanes" are hidden, but their "scrollbars" (round icons, which allow to scroll the partner links lists) remain. Also the diagram does not receive mouse events when I click on areas that would otherwise be occupied by the "swim-lanes". 

The latter is obviously more serious, as it essentially blocks me from selecting/ using toolbars of activities which are close enough to the left side of the diagram.

Issue is reproducible for all operation systems.

Fixed in gfesbv23, changeset 71fd21f5b2ba.

This is verified to work correctly in CAPS 63 M5 build (20101103-1248).
