Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.7.1 (Build 090826) Java: 1.6.0_0; OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 14.0-b16 System: Linux version 2.6.31-15-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; en_GB (nb) Userdir: /home/tom/.netbeans/6.7 I've got 1G ram When editing PHP files the whole IDE becomes completely unresponsive for up to 5 minutes but mostly for 10-30 seconds. On returning to life the queued up events can cause problems with the blind editing of the page. Top reveals java getting <25% of the CPU and no notable swapping. Its sometimes slow to refresh after returning to the front/top too.
I've tested two other installations on 32 bit Ubuntu 9.10 and get the same problem. I'm not sure but it seems to occur when deleting a single character from a php or javascript variable tail.
Is it reproducible using the development build [1] please? Anyway, please, generate _several_ thread dumps [2] during the IDE freeze and attach them here. Thanks a lot for cooperation. [1] http://bertram.netbeans.org/hudson/job/PHP-build/? [2] http://wiki.netbeans.org/GenerateThreadDump
