At Usability Study we figured out that most of developers struggling trying to find "remote development" feature. Note that they were told it was here. Otherwise I expect it is even harder.
An interesting idea could be to improve Solaris/Studio hosts discoverability. This can be achieved through introducing some sort of server that can respond to certain broadcast request. It can send back information about HW/SW of the host, SSH availability, port forwarding status, versions of Studio available there. IDE in its turn can quietly probe the net sending that broadcast and then if a "development server(s)" found display and informational icon in the NB tray.
Is it still actual?
