Description voodoomagic 2009-05-19 19:19:52 UTC
Would it be possible to implement the double click and drag function that is common to many other editors?

This features allows you to select text by "words" rather than by letters. This feature would be very beneficial and
increase productivity, lessen the tedious task of selecting text, and bring the editors UI quality closer to that of
Visual Studio.

Please contact me if more information is needed.

It's a minor thing but is the everyday use feature I miss the most from Visual Studio.

Maybe a duplicate of issue #154505?

It would appear to be in the same category... that issue describes the word selection as occuring on mouse up. So if
word selection is done on the second click : down, then it would naturally follow that draggable word selection would be
implemented.

hopefully we can generate enough hype about this to get it implemented into 7.0

this feature again would really make this IDE comparable to Visual studio. I use netbeans for php and rails development
(and whenever i need some sort of tool, java), which makes it the ide of choice for 3 / 4 of the platforms i am most
commonly using (4 obviously being .net/c#).

is this feature supposed to be implemented in 7.0?
