when 'Run SQL' button is pressed, it must execute only the sql selection (as right click -> run selection). if nothing 
is selected, then run all the sql in the editor, like pgadmin3 sql editor

With 7.4 "run statement" is exposed to gui, which executes only the selected statement _or_ the marked selection.

Overloading "Execute" with this behaviour would IMHO not be good idea, as you could easily do something like "DELETE FROM table1 WHERE ID = 1", if you now accidentally makr "DELETE FROM table1" and the do a "normal" run - your screwed.
