Description Jan Pichert 2001-10-04 12:23:07 UTC
When user uses find to search for "C++" in contents help an exception is thrown.
The exception is recursive and can not be exited. User must restart IDE to
resume normal operation.

Works for me in today's development build. What modules do you have installed that have
their own unique help sets? Chances are that the problem is not in usersguide but with a
fault search database in a module you have installed. Also, could you please
attach an excerpt from your log file which displays the exception?
Comment 2 Jan Pichert 2001-10-04 13:30:55 UTC
I have tried it on a linux with 3.2.1 - 98 it has exhibited the
reported behaviur on the first try. It was not my machine so did not
have the log when I have filed the report. The problem is when I have
used same aproach now the exception did not pop up again :( (on the
same machine) I will close it if I can not reproduce it by the end of
the day tomorrow.

Switching subcomponent to code, since the exception does not
specifically reveal problems with the search databases or merging of
help sets. Also, there seem to be no different modules installed that
could have caused the problem. Jesse, could you look to see if this
looks like the same as the previously-reported but hard-to-reproduce
problem that is buried in Java?
Comment 5 Jesse Glick 2001-10-07 18:48:32 UTC
See #6850, #12907, etc.--Swing bug. If it is really reproducible then
it should be looked at carefully to see if a workaround is
possible/needed (I doubt one is possible though).
