Description dtoffe 2008-12-27 19:57:13 UTC
PLease, the Sun's Java Tutorial could be included as an optional plugin, just in the same way the Java JDK Javadocs and
the Netbeans API are provided, to allow for offline reading. It should not be included as an item within Javadoc
Reference menu, but at the same level of Javadoc References, perhaps just below Javadoc References.

Not my decision to make. I am reassigning to Irina for evaluation.
Comment 2 Irina Filippova 2009-11-08 21:56:35 UTC
Adding the Sun's Java tutorial for offline reading will add to the size of the download (size of the Java tutorial zip is 29 MB). Moreover, addition of this package will be beneficial only for the beginner users, which constitute only a part of the NetBeans user base.

You can easily download the Java Tutorial package for offline reading from the Sun download center.
On the Java Tutorial home page, http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/index.html, click the link to the Sun Download Center (https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_Developer-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=tutorial-2009_09_23-oth-JPR@CDS-CDS_Developer) in the right-hand Tutorial Resources box.

Closing as wont fix.
