start by right click build.xml; chose debug other; select a target; then look at ant local vars -- properties;
then click the red button on toolbar to exit/stop debugging session; later notice session is still running in lower
right corner of netbeans; "X"ing out does not stop the task/process.

Verified ... and Closing all issues resolved into NetBeans 6.7 and earlier.
