Description _ hong_lin 2008-10-03 22:14:35 UTC
Build: nightly: http://deadlock.netbeans.org/hudson/job/python/nbpython-37.zip.

Steps to reproduce it:

1. install IDE, install Python 2.5.2 and 2.6
2. This issue only happens the first time you use this NB Python support IDE. Please remove any existing NB Python
userdir or specify a new python userdir when you try to reproduce it.
3. File -> New Project.
4. Select "Python" in Categories field, "Python Project" in Projects field. Click Next.
5. The "Python Platform" field is empty. You see the "Wrong Python Pltform" error message.
6. Click "Manage..." to add a Python platform. For example Python 2.5.2.
7. Select a Python Platform. The ""Wrong Python Pltform" error remains. "Next" and "Finish" buttons are all disabled.

The good news is, there is a workaround: Click "Cancel", then repeat step 3, 4 and 7 again.

Comment 2 _ hong_lin 2008-10-29 23:15:59 UTC
ok, the steps should be changed a little bit. Both Tony and I can reproduce it with the latest RC2 build on Windows
Vista and Ubuntu. Please try these steps again:

1. Select File -> New Project in Main menu.
2. Select "Python" in Categories field, "Python Project" in Projects field. Click Next.
3. In order to reproduce this issue, the "Python Platform" field In "New Python Project - Name and Location" panel
should be empty. If yours is not empty, please remove all platforms through "Manage...".
4. As soon as the "Python Platform" field is empty. You see the "Wrong Python Platform" error message. See the attached
screen shot: NewProjectError.png
5. Click "Manage..." to add a Python platform. Then close the Python Platform Manager.
6. The "Wrong Python Platform" error message still remains.
7. Select a Python Platform. But "Next" and "Finish" buttons are all disabled. See screen shot FailToCreateNewProject.png

Hi Hong and Tony,
I made some changes in the platform manager code related to this yesterday. Can you try this on a fresh build?
Comment 7 _ hong_lin 2008-11-04 19:52:58 UTC
Thanks Tor.
I verified the fix with the latest continues build #146.
Please change the status to RESOLVED. So I can close it.

Dear user,

If you are using NetBeans to learn, I recommend using the Development release as documented at http://forums.nbpython.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=69
