Description _ wadechandler 2008-09-28 05:46:57 UTC
This will add a new project type to create a custom platform. It can pull together different dependency types including
source (NB projects) and binary type artifacts. This custom platform can then be the platform used by suite projects and
helps link together different ideas and makes them compatible with the current NB RCP IDE support.

Why can we not vote for this issue? (No vote link...)
Comment 3 _ wadechandler 2008-12-01 14:42:22 UTC
We can really close this issue. NB 7.0 now is slated to do just this and then some. New RCP work is being done the RCP
projects to make them more shareable.

See:

Issue 152960.

On voting, I'm not sure why we can't. I hadn't noticed that before. This isn't a regular NB project per say...platformx
that is...though. We are essentially a community driven set of NB RCP modules developed and maintained by the community
for the community...for NB RCP folks. Hopefully we won't have to do to much in the line of IDE support unless we have to
as we thought in this case. So, I'm not sure how much voting will drive the process as much as someone who finds a bug
and needs it fixed in a PlatformX module should sign up and be a part of implementing it as long as the owner or other
developers of a given platformx project have agreed to the fix and it does no harm. I'll still see if there is any way
to change the voting link.

I've scanned through the referenced issues and wiki page, but couldn't find what now the suggested way is to share
modules other than creating a custom platform. Can you elaborate on this?
