Description giorgio42 2008-07-30 22:20:26 UTC
Using NB200807291401 I see the following issues with the Groovy Options dialog:
1) Groovy should be first tab in options panel
For two reasons:
a) Groovy is the basis, and Grails is built on top of Groovy.
b) Many people use Groovy, but not Grails (for instance, as a replacement for shell scripts...)

2) Each time I close the options panel without specifying a Grails directory I get "This seems to be no Grails
directory" warning dialog.

It is annoying to have Grails shoved into my face like that, when I don't want to have to do anything with it, I only
want Groovy.

3) There is no hint as what to enter into the Groovy Doc: text field.
4) There is no help button and no help (which aggravates 3)).

Add 3) I found by trial and error that I can <groovy_install_dir>\html put there without getting a warning.

If Groovy has been installed using the Windows installer the documentation is always installed there. It should be easy
to autodetect the documentation folder.

Although I have the JDK (1.6.0) docs installed, CC still says it cannot find the GDK/JDK docs if a method from the JDK
is selected in the code completion window.

Any idea why the code completion refuses to work with GDK/JDK methods although the docs are installed?
My impression is that this bug shouldn't require too much effort to be fixed.

Matthias, can you please have a look. I think you'll know most of the answers.

After the overhaul of the Configuration-dialog and the move into the "Miscellaneous" category most of this issue seems to be resolved or obsolete. Please
open additional, more fine-grained handles if needed.
