When I generate a blank line by typing 'Enter'. The indentation works rightly. One blank line with indentation is generated. However, the indentation disappears after I save using (ctrl + s). This if only for blank line with indentation.
Hi Glarian! This is a duplicate of http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=137529 (can you verify this, please?). This issue should be already fixed in dev builds. With regards, Petr Dvorak *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 137529 ***
Verified (after I received e-mail from reporter).
This bug has the same cause as bug 137529, but is more general and has not been fixed. Whitespace-only lines are still trimmed as of NetBeans IDE 7.3 (Build 201302132200) when "Remove Trailing Whitespace" is selected. The correct behaviour in my opinion is for these lines to be preserved, and trailing whitespace to be trimmed only from lines which contain non-whitespace characters.
IMHO this is not P2
The current behavior is as designed. When "Remove Trailing Whitespace" is selected, a trailing whitespace is removed from all lines except the line with cursor. No distinction between the lines containing non-whitespace characters and the other lines. Sorry.
