Description jessholle 2008-07-06 17:17:16 UTC
NetBeans needs to provide first-class official support for AspectJ in all Java project types.

The lack of this support is currently a compelling reason to use Eclipse. Apart from the "cross-cutting concerns" use
case, there are core language features missing from Java for which AspectJ is currently the only workaround, most
notably any real form of multiple inheritance, e.g. traits.

NetBeans must provide AspectJ support to remain competitive and should do so sooner than later.

Interestingly the fire for AspectJ is waning somewhat due to larger technical issues it presents, so I am dropping the
priority on this.
Comment 2 jessholle 2009-02-19 20:01:05 UTC
Dropping priority again.
Comment 3 David Strupl 2010-09-23 09:15:50 UTC
I am closing all reports in category Java/Unsupported as wontfix. These should
be dead issues --- if the reported cases are against some live part of the
NetBeans IDE please reopen and we can discuss to which category they belong.
