I think once Alexander has .so dependencies analysis implemented and dependency can be easily created as separate projects we really need solutions.
There was also a request to make it easy (one click) to build a set of projects. Solutions can solve this as well.

BTW, it might be somewhat connected to #190069 as the way how solution was created should be an attribute of solution, not a project.
