I've been using NetBeans 6.01 on Win XP for weeks. This week, suddenly I can no longer get an "Output" Tab on my Output Window. When I do a build, I have no way to see the results beyond what appears in the Status Bar at the bottom of the GUI. If I select Window -> Output -> Output nothing happens If I click Ctl-4 nothing happens. I have tried restarting NetBeans. I have tried rebooting my system. I do have a Search Results Tab in the Output Window. Same for "Versioning Output" and "Usages", etc. There's just no build output. No build output means no Java Compiler output. If I can't see compile errors how do I fix my code? This has a SEVERE impact on the usefulness of NetBeans.
Never mind. I rebooted again and I can get the Output Window again.
It has happened again. NO OUTPUT WINDOW! I have both restarted NB and rebooted Win XP and and I still have no Output Window This time, no Versioning Output & No Build Output.
Reassigning to "core".
could you try to press - "Window > Reset Windows" menu item? It should set all the windows into default positions. Could you backup content of <nb_userdir>/config/Windows2Local directory and attach it here? What OS, JDK, window manager, etc? thank you
Without requested information for long time - INVALID. We can't do anything in this case, so please reporter add requested information and reopen issue. Thanks in advance.
Netbeans IDE 8.2 - still getting the same behavior: after closing the output window it can't be opened again. after window -> reset windows, issue solved. please note: regarding user interface, ctrl-4 open output, but ctrl-f4 close current window - might lead to some problems for the users if pressng f4 instead 4.
