Number of spaces per indent is set to 2 if user changes this setting. The new valued is take in an account after IDE

0) start ide with fresh userdir
1) change Number of spaces per indent to 6
2) reformat code
-> indentation level is 2, not 6 as specified on options dialog
3) restart IDE
-> indentation works correctly
