Description Patrick Keegan 2008-04-11 11:42:49 UTC
When creating a new db connection (right-click Databases node and choose New Database Connection, you are first prompted
to enter the basic connection information. After pressing OK, you are then moved to the Advanced tab of this dialog. If
you click Cancel there, then whatever you did on the Basic Settings tab is lost (or at least appears to be lost).

If both panels are needed to be completed for the connection to happen, then this should be a wizard.

looking at this again, I see that after clicking OK the first time, there is a message that the connection has been
established. But the connection doesn't appear in the Services window unless you also click OK in the Advanced pane of
the dialog

I agree, we should make this a wizard. However, we want to totally redo the connection dialog, we'll just make sure
this is part of it.

I believe this still needs to be addressed, even though Issue 130237 has been closed. I think there is another issue
open for this, but I haven't been able to find it...

Also, since it's always been like this, I'll make this a P2 enhancement rather than a defect.
