unable to execute commands in SQL Command windows or results in Severe exception

(1) In SQL Command window, unable make "Connection" selection
(2) Under Services > Databases > (database connection) > Tables > (table), right-click to "View Data" and get =evere
exception, "ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: No such child: 0".
