In OSX leopard with Netbeans 6.0 and greater:

The java process started by the netbeans mac binary is shown with the name null with a seperate PID. 

It would be nice if this process has a real name (like java or netbeans)

It seems like common problem in activity monitor, maybe it is more MAC issue than NB issue.
