Description John Price 2001-06-10 08:08:14 UTC
When running the IDE in SDI mode, the editor window(s) scroll vertically off
screen never to be seen again as soon as one is opened.

This problem does not occur using MDI mode.

Using Mandrake 8.0 and IBM jdk 1.3 (release 7)

So, this looks to me as window manager problem.
But, this behaviour probably strongly depends on your window manager, so could
you please tell us which one are you using?
Comment 2 Jan Zajicek 2001-06-13 11:14:16 UTC
Are another windows badly positioned too, f.e. the main window should be at the
top of the screen. If not so, than it seems like problem in Windowmanager, try
ask on nbusers mailinglists, I am sure that somebody helps. Waiting for
additional info.
Comment 3 John Price 2001-06-13 12:10:12 UTC
I am using KDE 2.1
All other windows are positioned, and work correctly.

Does this occur with sun jdk1.3 too?

Assigning.

This looks like strange platform / jvm / window maneger dependent problem. With
variety of other configurations this problem clearly don't appear.
Can you please check if you can reproduce problem using other jvm and/or window
manager? I heard that KDE can attach special positioning to individual frames,
couldn't this be the case?
Thankx.

there were known problems with KDE 2.1 when it was released. They
have been fixed in Sun JDK 1.3.1 I think. Please try the latest JDK
from Sun and if you still encounter this problem, feel free to reopen
the bug
