Access an editor with the mouse by clicking on the light bulb icon in the margin (e.g. add an import).  The cursor is no
longer visible for the remainder of the NB session.  Keyboard shortcuts such as Command-S don't work either.  Accessing
editor hints via alt-enter does not cause the problem to occur.  

I'm running OS 10.4 and Java 1.5.0_13.

yes, this is known issue 120880 caused by inconsistency between Sun and  Apple JDK
