I have been working with XML documents which are "compressed" for RESTful service use by removing human readable formatting. I want to be able to save these documents into xml files and use NetBeans to format the documents. When formatting documents, such as the one attached, line breaks are not added and thus the documents are still difficult to read. I would expect a format such as the format applied using the default Transformer in the JDK package to be applied, one line per element, indented.
Created attachment 55597 [details] example xml file which does not result in adequate formatting
There are several formatting related issues we should look at while working on this. Listing them here as dependents for easier tracking, even though some may not be truly dependents.
Created attachment 56624 [details] formatted test.xml
Chris, please see the attached formatted xml. I think this is 100 times better than before.
The formatting on this looks much better, definitely reasonable.
