* picking a Swing component from the palette is both slow and unreliable.  You click on a component.  Many seconds
later, you might be able to try to drop it onto your container.  Or maybe not.

Sorry about the delay on this.  I've been working some pretty insane hours, and haven't had a chance to follow up.  
Would a video screen capture be adequate?

The more information you provide the better - it would be ideal to describe a reproducible test-case.

I apologize for the lengthy delay on this (work and family matters have intervened).  After a bit of experimentation, 
the slowness portion of this issue appears to be a dupe of issue #124523 - slow performance on remote X11 connections.  
I'm reopening this simply to mark it as a dupe of that issue.
