Description matthies 2007-12-17 13:48:05 UTC
In tree views such as Files and Projects, it would be helpful if not only plain Cursor-Right/Left would expand/collapse
tree nodes, but also while the Ctrl or Shift key is being held down. This would make the selection of multiple nodes
using the keyboard easier when some of the nodes to be selected are hidden under collapsed nodes. While it is currently
possible to expand a node without losing the current selection, by releasing Ctrl/Shift before pressing Cursor-Right
and then holding down Ctrl/Shift again before continuing to move the keyboard focus, this not exactly intuitive and
also quite error prone, because doing any other cursor movement while Ctrl/Shift is released loses the selection. It's
like walking a tightrope ;), and more often than not I'm getting it wrong.

This is issue of Swing L&F. Nothing to be done about that in explorer code, as far as I can tell. Btw. where is Swing L&F bugzilla category?
