Build: NetBeans IDE 6.0 Beta 2 (Build 200710212201) VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM, 1.6.0_01-b06 OS: Windows XP, 5.1, x86 User Comments: I ran the Desktop Application which i created. Then i selected a row in the Application window. This error occurs. The problem is the Date Field I think. Even in earlier versions the Date field column is a problem. Thanks

The problem when using JDesktop applications is that the corresponding textfield is for a date column below the table and when the row is selected in the table there is a class cast exception. If the textfield is removed then there is no exception. That means the textfield takes a String and hence the Date column when assigned to the textfield when selected should be cast to a String. This is what i suppose the problem is. thanks ramana
Probably Swing problem...is error reproducible somehow reliably? I guess it is random, isn't it?
I found that this is already reported JDK bug, seems to be fixed in JDK 1.7 http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6493542
