-create new REST sample project, ie. HelloWorld and use default location for it => sample project is created in: ~/NetBeansProjects/HelloWorld/HelloWorld but it should be created in: ~/NetBeansProjects/HelloWorld
This is intentional. At least, the soa and identity samples are created this way. I am closing this as wontfix. If you think this is unacceptable, we can discuss this some more.
I think that extensions (like ie. REST, SOA, Identity, BPEL, whatever) should follow conventions used by the core IDE (they are set by Java/Web samples)
see my previous comment - if there's only one project in a sample then it should not be created in some sub-directory, OTOH if there are more projects in a sample then they should be created in one user-defined directory
This bug was reported against NetBeans IDE 6.0 or an older release, or against a non-maintained module. NetBeans team does not have enough resources to get to this issue, therefore we are closing the issue as a WONTFIX. If you are interested in providing a patch for this bug, please see our NetFIX guidelines for how to proceed. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you. The NetBeans Team
