On Windows XP, netbeans 6.0 beta1 installer sees another instance running while there is not.
Se attached image and process list.

gmarziou,

most probably the previos installer instance was terminated or quit abnormally.
We check for existance of %USERPROFILE%/.nbi/.nbilock file : if the installer exits normally then this file is usually 
deleted. If the installer is terminated by user (using e.g. Task Manager) then this file can be not deleted. In this 
case the next installer instance would warn about !possible! another instance running.

So words "... installer sees another instance running while there is not" are not 100% true because the messages just 
states that "It seems...".

We have related and very similar enhancement (Issue 113452).
So I mark this issue as the dup of that one. Feel free to reopen if you disagree.
